Parents as Students

As part of our Parent-School Partnership,Lower School faculty hosted parents for a fun, engaging and thought-provoking evening of hands-on learning on February 8. Parents had the opportunity to become students again, gaining first-hand experience of life in Beasley classrooms from a student's point of view. Nine classes were offered, with time allotted for parents to attend two sessions. Topics offered included: Countries, Culture & Art (Amy Oliver); Hands-On, Minds-On Science (Bob Shaw); Word Study (Cindy Bender); Don't Take the Bait! (Mike Cerkovnik, Vicki Thurman); Respect for Diversity (Candace Glass, Liz Theis); Enter the Portal (Greg Stevens); Smartboards (Donna Lohman); Mighty Math! (Marsha Bond); and Foreign Language Fun (Soledad Jaramillo and Ines Shultz).
